Welcome to Bewdley Rowing Club

Bewdley Rowing Club offers an open and friendly environment with excellent facilities and around 220 members, young and old. The club was established in 1877 and is located in the small picturesque Georgian town of Bewdley on the banks of the River Severn in Worcestershire. Club members regularly work within the community and local schools to promote and provide competitive rowing and sculling, regularly offering coaching and outings for newcomers wanting to try rowing.

Throughout the year members successfully compete in local and national events including our own two-day annual regatta held at the end of July.

Bewdley Rowing Club have produced World Champions.

The Women’s Masters C coxed four of Kim Martyn Smith, Jean Main, Jane Chiswell, Helen Hugo and Cox Kat Carlyle have become a force to be reckoned with over the last few seasons. This women’s crew is full of accomplishments for Bewdley Rowing Club, being un beaten locally for the last 4 years, in 2014 they won the Veteran’s 4s Head of the River Race on the Thames; a first for a Bewdley women’s crew. The following season they took home the Silver medal and the National Masters Championships and went on to win at prolific Henley Masters Regatta in 2015 something that hasn’t been done for well over a decade in the club and this season they took home a Bronze medal at the National Masters Championships and then went on to become World Champions winning at the World Rowing Masters Championships Regatta 2016, also an achievement that hasn’t been done for many years at Bewdley; there is no stopping this crew.
