FUN REGATTA
What It Is
The event is organised for crews of persons with no or very little rowing experience. During April/May the crews will be coached and coxed by rowing club members resulting in a round robin style racing for men, women and mixed crews in coxed fours over a 400m downstream course. Year on year this has become more and more fancy dress based, which makes for a fun spectacle. We generally have over 60 crews enter, the race is held at the beginning of June. As well as the races on the water, the day also involves a disco and barbecue, it’s very much a family day, with fun to be had by all, participants and spectators alike.
So get planning now, entries are welcome for the following events:

You can enter a complete crew of four friends, family or colleagues, a partial crew or as an individual. For partial crews and individuals we’ll match you up to create some crews.

What It Costs
The entry fee is £80 per crew for which you’ll receive almost 6 weeks training and coaching with a maximum of six 1 hour sessions on the water over those 5/6 weeks, your entry into the Regatta, full access to the club, its gym and the bar! – and you don’t get value like that these days!

What You'll Need
All you need is some enthusiasm and standard sports clothing. Rowing is a water sport, so you can expect to get a bit wet from splashes etc so you should also bring along a change of clothes when training on the water. We have changing rooms and showers at the club for you to use. All coaching and equipment will be provided by us, and we’ll cox the boats (unless you have an experienced cox of your own you want to bring along) but don’t forget all rowers must have no, or very little experience.
Training Sessions
You’ll receive upto 6 weeks training and coaching with a maximum of six 1 hour sessions on the water over those 5/6 weeks.
Training normally starts from the end of April and runs right up to the week before the regatta race day itself. These sessions are on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and weekend afternoons.
The booking sheets for the training sessions with allocated time slots will be displayed in the clubhouse for a member of your crew to book a slot. REMEMBER to check with your cox/coach first that they can make that session.
If a crew turns up to a booked session without a cox/coach or fails to turn up to a booked session, they will lose that session and it will count as one of the 6 allowed sessions.
No more than one session is allowed in the last week running up to the regatta.
Not all crews will get their maximum number of allowed sessions if time does not permit. In other words, enter early to be able to fit all your sessions in, leave it a few weeks and the chances are you won't be able to.
Stuff You Should Know
Bewdley Rowing Club Pub and Club Regatta is organised by Bewdley Rowing Club, a Community Amateur Sports Club, that applies any surplus on the event to the sport of rowing.

What You'll Win
The winners receive club full membership with use of all facilities worth over £300 and a medal each.

Please complete the Regatta Entry Form for the crew (just one form per crew). Each individual crew member also needs to complete the individual membership form.

Parking
You may or may not be aware that there are flood barrier works that are going on in Bewdley for the next 18 months. This has impacted the club due to part of the parking field now being used as a works compound, therefore parking for this year will be at a premium and will be first come first served. However, to be respectful for each other, where possible please car share to reduce to number of vehicles.
Club members are parking elsewhere to give all the space we have to Fun Regatta competitors, please park considerately.
If the car park is full there is a pay to park car park at Bridge House at the end of the lane. If you use this car park, make sure you pay as you will be ticketed if not and we hold not responsibility for any fines.
