Four crews headed over to Trentham regatta in Stoke on Trent to compete and came home with some pots.
Men’s pair Ed Moll and Paul Warnett raced in the masters H, missing out to Runcorn whilst in the women’s open category, our women’s masters crew of Jo Taylor, Valerie Bennett, Suzy James and Kerry Jones lost out to North Staffs and Ironbridge. Due to having no opposition in their category, they rowed in the open category to gain experience of multi lane rowing.
Women’s masters D crew, Kim Martin Smith, Jean Main, Jane Chiswell and Helen Hugo, coxed by Kat Carlyle, convincingly beat Derwent rowing club in a straight final.
In the afternoon, the women’s masters B/C crew continued their winning streak. Sarah Bagley, Ruth Hale, Kat Carlyle, Serena Gammond and cox Alex Bushnell beat Ironbridge in the heats to set up a final with Trafford, which they won….of course.
Well done also to all who raced at Hereford sprint regatta on Sunday 2 June. Two Bewdley crews competed; Jules Prior, Yvonne Ogilvy, Lin Beech, Gerry Glenister, coxed by Mel Gunn raced in the PRI category, losing to Pengwern whilst men’s masters G/F coxless four of Richard Gunn, Tony Clay, Peter Simpson and Doug Jackson lost out to Nottingham.
